19 frigates vs. 0 frigates.
7 corvettes vs. 3 corvettes.
14 submarines vs. 5 submarines.
Thats quantitative,,, the qualitative is the more decisive. And running down fleet sizes is one thing,,, but can the Turkisk Air Force sweep the Israelis from the sky? Or is this Turkish fleet somehow the first one since 1941 that is somehow immune to air attack?
One successful air raid could destroy any Turkish fleet that sortied. NATO will stamp it’s feet, but thats it.
I just don’t think Turkey can project power that far. Their Air Force would not be able to compete. And even if Turkey was 1st class,,, they are in a nasty position. They will be fighting 400 miles from home while Israeli fighters will be practically within sight of their bases.
Not to mention that any Turk strike package will essentially need to fly parallel to the Israeli coast, and would be in a fight before it could even make it to the coast of Gaza.
Turk ships, with no top cover, exposed to the Israali Air Force,,, nasty proposition if you are a Turk sailor.
My money is on Israel, their Air Force is second only to ours.
