“BP stands for British Petroleum, so how much incentive do you think they have for stopping a well that will damage the US?”

So far BP’s company value has dropped by a minimum of 30 billion dollars, that’s “billion”, with a B. And the longer this goes on the more it will drop. I’d say that’s pretty good incentive to stop the leak.

A better incentive would be to start drilling in America. We have so much oil under this continent we should NEVER have to be held hostage by foreign companies having an oil spill anywhere in the world.

Who cares about BP’s company value? Who is going to profit for their black numbers? Not us. We’ll still be subject to oil spills and $$$$ per barrel of crude and no one, unless s/he is a share holder will benefit from BP’s assets.

We don’t need BP to drag their heels over an oil spill that is damaging an already weak economy; we don’t need excuses from the liberals and the leftists who think this country should buy foreign oil; we don’t need whiney folks who care more about another country’s company than they do about finding good solid work in this country, for folks who LOVE this country, and stand to benefit from any and all wells that are drilled here and all the shale that is to be refined here, than all the OPEC countries combined.

The truly sad thing is that American oil companies are held hostage by the price that OPEC sets for a barrel of oil. That’s so American oil companies can’t be weaned from foreign oil. We need to be independent.

Who is going to fight for that? And, as an aside, how many natural gas and oil leaks are under the oceans, and have been spewing oil for hundreds or thousands of years? Who is going to clean that up? Any takers?
