name recognition is a very very valuable commodity in national politics. Do not take it lightly. Look at Hunter, Thompson, etc they might have had good ideas but because of low name recognition those ideas and those candidates failed.

With Mitt and Palin taking the oxygen out of the room. The chances of any other candidate breaking through without millions in ads will be extremely difficult at this stage of the game
