I’m sitting here watching and listening to my taping of Obama’s “press conference.” He speaks about the corruption in the Minerals & Management Service, discovered by Secretary Salazar and he commissioned a report and a report has been provided by the Inspector General showing corruption in the Minerals and Management Service. Once the report was available, apparently Secretary Salazar immediately took steps to clean up that corruption.
I did a (Proquest) search on Minerals and Management Services and find no news articles to speak of about it, in the last year, before May 2010.
I wonder when the report was commissioned? The day the oil spilled?
Is that why the President hasn’t done anything about this oil spill? He was waiting for the report? A report he asked for what, two, three weeks ago? And in the space of time that he received it, Secretary Salazar has already taken steps to clean up the corruption?
I've got questions:
When was the corruption in the MMS discovered by Secretary Salazar?
When was the report commissioned?
What steps were taken to clean up the corruption? When were those steps taken?
Has anyone been arrested or indicted?
If so, what are their names?
And if this report was only commissioned a few weeks ago, why did President Obama try to give the impression that this problem was discovered long before the oil spill and had already been taken care of?
So he can deflect responsibility and blame it on Bush. That, at least, is transparent.

Obowmoa is so on it, yet he didn't even know if the MMS director was fired, let go or otherwise.
Oh yes, I realize the corruption was not on his watch. Goodness, his is the most transparent administration in the last five decades. His administration is so transparent, we heard all about this report, way before today, right?
What? Did this come out in the press conference? (My taping stopped after the first nine minutes, darn.) Tell me more.
Its called “invent as we go along” whatever is needed.
Obama said at a news conference later in the day that he didn't learn of Birnbaum's resignation until Thursday and he didn't know the circumstances behind her departure.
But, let him be clear, he IS on top of this.
So it may happen but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Appears that the MMS gave waivers to BP for this platform shortly before the accident regarding environmental studies and accident response and that the disputed capping procedure that may have been the cause of the accident was signed off by MMS.
This would explain the "resignation" of Birnbaum.
What about the underlying implication that she is a crook?
Now is a good time to find out what Salad Czar has been doing the last 18 months. I can guarantee you it won’t go over well with the American people.
Oh, I think that’s a given. She may have actually resigned for honorable reasons but given this regime...
Ah, now it’s all starting to make sense. They found corruption in the MMS, and this woman takes the fall, right?

Typical reactionary action. It won’t work, though. The Joker’s jig is up. They can blame Bush all they want, but the majority is awake to their tricks. 0bie failed miserably, once again, at his “press conference”.
I would love to see a transcript of the speech as the man contradicted himself quite a bit - on it the first day, admitted that the his response was slow blah blah blah. He took so much cotton pickin’ time in NOT answering the questions, he was simply dragging each answer out to preclude any more uncomfortable questions. I love how he can even fool himself!
Heck, I’d never even heard of MMS before this and I’ll bet obama hadn’t either. Guess they never have any controversy about who is going to head up the agency, budgets etc.??? Why is it news to me after 50+ years? I take it they are pretty important and just stay under the radar?
AND we will find out soon just what happened with Sestak!! Can’t wait. How long does it take to get their lies straight?
I, too, had never heard of the MMS before yesterday. This one government agency managed to cause the oil spill? (Rhetorical question.)
