The conversation eventually became quite heated, going from Fiorina's defense of Prop. 26 on the merits -- it had bipartisan support from Republican former Gov. Pete Wilson and the business community, and was narrowly tailored towards the cause of school construction -- to Fiorina ripping on DeVore's third-place position in the polls.
"I'm sure it's very frustrating for Chuck DeVore to have so many conservatives supporting me," said Fiorina. "But I wonder why, maybe it makes him feel better, maybe it makes Chuck DeVore, who is dog-paddling at 14% in the polls, maybe it makes him feel better to belittle other people's conservative credentials."
When Campbell had his turn to ask a question, he too went after Fiorina. He asked Fiorina whether in 2000, when he was the Republican nominee against Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, did she vote for him?
"No, I didn't," Fiorina confessed. DeVore then cut in and volunteered that he in fact voted for Campbell in the 2000 race. "It is a secret ballot," Fiorina shot back. "I didn't vote for Dianne Feinstein, either."

THESE ARE THE BEST WE CAN DO????????????????????
I listened to the “debate.” It was pretty bad.
Hey maybe FioRINO could downsize the government like she did HP.
I actually wouldn’t mind seeing congress outsourced to India, and IRS shares drop by 50%.
I really, REALLY don’t like Fiorina.
How sexist. /sarc
And don’t forget that she isn’t to be criticized because she had breast cancer and chemo, which obviously makes her qualified for office.
Looks like DeVore is working with Campbell to get Campbell elected. Hell, he admits to voting for Campbell.
Yes, against DiFi... Big deal! C’mon! Bob
Let me see if I understand this correctly.
Palin isn’t a conservative and is a member of the establishment because she endorsed a woman less liberal then Campbell.
DeVore isn’t a Liberal and member of the establishment even though he voted for Liberal Campbell as any good establishment Republican would do.
Oh and Fiorina is the devil incarnate because she refused to vote for either of the parties lousy choices.
I’m not saying Palin didn’t make a partyline endorsement. I’m not saying DeVore is a liberal. I’m not saying Fiorina is our soul sister; a tea party member rejecting both ruling parties before there was a tea party.
I am saying that people have twisted themselves into knots trying to create a purity test over 3 individuals who really aren’t worth the acrimony.
All are members of the establishment. DeVore is just using the outsider label to try and win the nomination since Carly is their pick and doing a bad job of it. Campbell is a straight up unapologetic liberal. Carly probably leans liberal but she’ll be a good girl usually and follow McCain and McConnell’s direction as I don’t think she has an intellectual loyalty to any philosophy. Think Harriet Miers.
When someone like Christie in NJ comes along then I’ll support them. I hope. I confess I didn’t believe Christie would follow through so lesson learned. These 3 are nothing like him. That I’m sure of.
