There are currently 6 republican candidates in the MI01 primary. The winner will meet one Democrat who is uncontested, Gary McDowell.
The strongest candidates are Allen and Benishek, Benishek is a conservative, Allen is a State Senator who just voted to unionize home health care workers. Allen is the leader in the state of corporate welfare breaks, and is the most prolific fundraiser of the party. This is a fight between conservatism and the MIGOP.

yeah, um, Stupak is still there, but he is retiring and won’t seek re election. We’s movin’ on with an open seat.
