Unfortunately, he won only because the dem vote was split between two candidates. That wont be the case in November so enjoy it while it lasts.
So is Obama still claiming Hawaii as his home state?
I remember reading an article awhile back, unfortunately I can't find it now, about Daniel Boone when he served in the Virginia legislature. A very popular Admiral had died and his wife was no longer qualified to live in the government owned house. So, the legislature decided to provide her a house and Boone voted for the plan.
When he returned home his good friend and supporter, whose name I don't recall but he was the most influential man in the area, told Boone he no longer had his support. He told Boone he had no right to spend other peoples money on things not specifically allowed by the Constitution no matter how worthy the cause.
That was the understanding of the Constitution back then, as was the idea of states being able to freely secede from the union. Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War changed all that. That era was the beginning of the government overreaching.
The original intent, with the help of the Tea Party Movement, is again building energy.
An alarm for D.C. no more insiders wanted.
