Now I expect most Democrats and Liberals to blame Charles Djou's "victory" on the Democratic split, and on Hawaii's unique special election format. However, that would be a distraction from the real picture: Charles Djou increased Republican votes by more than 75% during a special election.
Don't believe me? Wrap your mind around these statistics:
2008 congressional election
(D) Abercrombie - 154,208 - 70.6% (R) Steve Tataii - 38,115 - 17.4% Other/Blank vote - 25,963 - 11.9%

Folks, Hawaii is hurting. Its left-wing communist labor unions have destroyed both the agriculture (Sugar & Pineapple) industry. It is hurting from the “Obama” caused recession that continues or expands becasue POTUS Obama could care less about the unemployed in the Hawaii leisure industry. Couple that with stiff competition for tourist trade from the Caribbean, cruise ships and mainland vacations, and you see that Hawaii has let itiself get into a bad economic situation. The state would collapse and die if not for Federal dollars especially for military on-site installations and, even that will diminish under Obama. So...some Hawaiians have opened their eyes, just as the Indian folks of India have done and are beginning to say “you know, this socialism jazz just don’t cut the mustard”. We, the people in Hawaii got to get in tune with the times. Socialism and liberalism are passe’. For goodness sakes, the PRC is now more capitalist then the USA. See the Chicoms and Indians get it, Europe is getting it now, quite painfully, I must admit, and it appears with the Pubbie win last night, Hawaii is waking up to reality. I hope it lasts and grows, for Hawaii is a blessing to America, from richness in history and culture it still remains one of the best tourist destinations in the entire world. I know, I have been there twenty-one times for both business and vacation with my family. Hawaii, get rid of the Democrat Party, get rid of your labor unions, put these failures behind you and move forward with the strength and determination that made your great state the diamond it should always remain, a leading tourist and business crossroads of the world!!!
From AOL news:
“It is a significant win. It is the birthplace of the president of the United States,” Republican Chairman Michael Steele said a few hours after Djou sealed his victory over Democrats Colleen Hanabusa and Ed Case.”
Uh, Steele? I’m real glad you didn’t use your GOP expense account to watch lesbo strippers. But Honolulu is NOT the birthplace of this POTUS, and there ARE no congressional races this year in Kenya.
