Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou has won the special election in urban Honolulu's 1st Congressional District, the first Republican sent to Washington, D.C., to represent the Islands in two decades.
According to the state Office of Elections, Djou leads with 39.5 percent of the vote, followed by 30.8 percent for state Senate (Links to Honolulu news)

Good news, but I’m sure the media will ignore this, or say that it was expected, or that it doesn’t mean anything.
This won’t get 1% of the coverage that PA-12 got, where the donks won thanks to a 2-1 voter registration advantage.
At least thats one more GOP house seat till at least Nov. I believe Case will run again in Nov., and then win.
It gets interesting because Daniel Inouye, the self-annointed dictator of the Democratic party in that state, wants one of his cronies, Hanabusa, to get the seat. They threw the kitchen sink at trying to get her elected this round, but Case got more of the vote.
