Thank you very much sir/ma’am. My company, Pfizer, just announced that they were moving all of our site’s mfg jobs to Puerto Rico and Ireland, impacting 1300 employees here in New York. I will pass on this information with much appreciation.
Suggestion: We should purge the word “impacting” from our vocabularies when discussing job losses. I suggest instead the phrase “destroying the livelihood of”; as in “destroying the livelihood of 1300 employees here in New York.”
“Impacting” is just too benign a term, at least for those of us who have in the past been “impacted”.
