This case is about an enlisted man refusing to deploy. Generally speaking, the military is harder on officers, especially when they disobey orders.
Lakin, if found guilt on all counts, faces close to 4-years confinement, total forfeiture and dismissal if maximum sentence is imposed. I doubt he'll get more than a year confinement, but substantial forfeiture and dismissal are probably unavoidable, at this point.
