In order to distract from the grave fiscal crisis caused by Greeces cradle-to-grave socialism, Greek socialist prime minister George Papandreou is threatening to sue American banks.
Like his father before him who was also prime minister, Papandreou is the leader of the political party PASOK, which is the Panhellenic Socialist Movement. He is also president of the Socialist International. (The Socialist Internationals affiliate in the U.S. is a group called Democratic Socialists of America, which in turn in closely tied to the Congressional Progressive Caucus).
Greece will look into the past and see how things went, Papandreou said. There are similar investigations going on in other countries and in the United States. This is where I think, yes, the financial sector, I hear the words fraud and lack of transparency. So yes, yes, there is great responsibility here.

An entire nation beset with delusions?
Lashing out at the only major power that won’t punish him for it.
Has he gotten around to the forty gardeners for the Athens Hospital that are protesting pension reform?
They still want that retirement at high percentage of salary in their early 50s.
The kicker you would think is why do they have forty staff classed as gardeners.
But that is not the kicker. The kicker is that this major hospital has not had a garden for decades but still has the forty employees classed with that job description.
Isn’t government run economies grand?
He’s a liberal.
Racism = America’s fault
Sexims = America’s fault
Poverty = America’s fault
Hatred = America’s fault
Starvation = America’s fault
I’m sure Obummer agrees with him.
Suddenly, for some odd reason, I don’t give a crap what happens to Greece.
Wonder why....Hm.
When one nation sues the banks of another nation, does Discovery still work the way it does in this country? If so, he might regret having started down this road.
He was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA, where his father, Andreas Papandreou, held a university post. His mother is American-born Margaret Papandreou, née Chant. He was educated at schools in Toronto, at Amherst College in Massachusetts, Stockholm University, the London School of Economics and Harvard University.
Guess so ...
So why should US of A have any reason to come to the aid of Greece the next time a volcano or tsunami devastates the country? Anyone???
Is his position really that different form the position adopted by Democrats in Congress that predatory lending, rather than predatory, greedy, dishonest, and speculative borrowing, led to the credit crisis?
To all Socialists the utter failure of their Socialist programs is always because they were not Socialist enough.
predatory lending AND fraudulent borrowing.
A whold nation did not the big banks were faking information?
most of the american banks he speaks of have discretionary budgets bigger than Greece’s budget.
The guy should give credit for this line to its real originator: Oliver Hardy.
