Read thge comments...they are maddening. The real solution to healthcare is to ABOLISH insurance, let the people keep their money, and fend for themselves. If they do not save, they will pay the cost themselves.

You don’t get it, do you? The insurance companies will be abolished, but the government will command that money you once turned to an insurance company be turned over to the government (or penalties are incurred) which the government pretends will be for “health care”—but where will the health system be when you need it? It will have disappeared. And ez, if you are not paying for health insurance now, you sure will when Obamacare takes effect!

When I was a kid, we paid for doctor visits out of pocket. Insurance was for hospital stays etc. Then in the late 60's, the government decided to meddle and they created medicare. It took a large chunk of payers out of the insurance pool. Rates went up because less people were paying. But seniors were getting LOTS of FREE tests so it drove up costs. So government meddled again and created HMO's. Everytime government has meddled, it has raised costs. Insurance didn't do it. Government did.
