The automatic brake is that structure hanging down from the back of the trailer and it seems to have worked fine.

I can't give you chapter and verse, but 22mph into a large, heavy steel object is one hell of an energy absorption.

There would have been much more damage to an 'old' vehicle.

Volvo is stating that someone installed a Toyota gas pedal in the car by mistake. The problem will be rectified for the next test.
