Here is video from today's announcement by President Obama that Elena Kagan is his nominee to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. In this clip, Obama said he is choosing Kagan because she understands "behind the law there are stories."
Obama went on to say, "That understanding of law - not as an intellectual exercise, or words on a page, but as it affects the lives or ordinary people . . . "
But the U.S. Constitution consists of "words on a page," and Obama has selected someone that he knows will not be guided by the "words on a page," but by her own agenda to remake the law and the nation in a radically leftist image.
He went on to cite as an example that the case she made priority as U.S. Solicitor General was the "Citizens United" case that she lost before the Supreme Court. The Court ruled 5-4 that Corporations had free speech rights, a decision Obama condemned during his State of the Union Address this year by attacking the Supreme Court as they sat before him in the House of Representatives Chamber.
Obama's pick is another "finger in the eye" to conservatives on the court, nominating the very person to join the high court who argued the case that Obama has attacked the court for.

Of course, if it came down to a choice between him and Mr. Obama’s latest pick, I’d say “bring on the liberal horror-writer”. At least with HIM writing them, the court’s decisions might make me lose sleep at night for reasons OTHER than their misinterpretations of our Consitution.
