TOP 5 REASONS WHY PALIN ENDORSED CARLY FIORINA

Some conservatives are angry at Governor Palin's endorsement of former Hewlett-Packard Executive Carly Fiorina. In a way, this anger is understandable, given that Chuck DeVore is the Tea Party favorite and the true conservative in the race, and Palin stated that she would support conservatives regardless of party.

Principles are important, but in certain circumstances they take a back seat to pragmatism. You can't implement your principles if you don't win first, so here is why Palin endorsed Carly:

Money. Chuck DeVore is a fine conservative, but he doesn't have the money to compete with Boxer. California is an expensive media market and a huge state requiring lots of travel and lodging. DeVore would need a minimum of $20 million just to keep his head above water, and God Bless the Tea Parties, but they'd have to hold a thousand money-bombs for DeVore, and in this economy it simply ain't happening.

History. Boxer is a POS Senator with an IQ of a bathtub ring, but she's a ruthless campaigner. Those of you screaming we need a true conservative to face Boxer - I humbly offer you the remains of Matt Fong and Bruce Herschensohn, both staunch conservatives who got shredded by Boxer. Boxer either used their conservatism against them and they apologized like dummies, or she made up some crap at the last minute which got her votes, as in the case of the strip club allegation against Herschensohn. She can't do the same to Carly.

Polls. DeVore has been running for almost a year now and yet he still can't break 20% in the polls. This with the Tea Party movement and voter discontent at Washington. He should be leading, yet he's not. That falls more on the candidate and the campaign he's running than on the political environment.

3-person race. Governor Palin was faced with what is known as a Buridan's ass choice. She can't support Campbell because he's too liberal; yet if she support the conservative, DeVore, he would lose. So she had to choose someone who represented the greater good, and that choice is Carly.

Mitt Romney. Carly has a much better chance of becoming Senator than Meg Whitman has at being Governor. Endorsing Carly neutralizes CA support of Romney in the event the two of them face off in the state. Also, it kills the canard that Palin can't attract independents and moderates (never mind that she worked with Dems in Alaska and was pretty much a pariah in the state GOP). Palin can't be stereotyped as a right-wing religious kook by endorsing Carly.

Nobody's saying Carly is the 2nd coming of Thatcher. She might become the West Coast version of Olympia Snowe, who knows. But what Carly represents is a new type of blue-state Republican in the mold of Scott Brown and Chris Christie: Someone who meets the minimum conservative threshold and will focus on taxes, spending, health-care and other big-ticket issues, and not get into pissing matches about social or other issues that the majority doesn't care about right now. Sarah's endorsement is strategic and makes perfect sense.

She is pure socialist and she has amply demonstrated that in her career and her ideologies.

I’ll pick principles too, so that makes two of us against the ‘pragmatist’.

Carly Fiorina has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List. She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage,

Are you talking about the Cypress Times article posted earlier from Stacy Drake?

This is from the article:

My opinion changed today after Sarah Palin gave her endorsement to DeVore’s challenger, Carly Fiorina. It wasn’t Governor Palin’s endorsement that got me to change my mind about him, it was his reaction to the endorsement that served as a big red flag warning to this man’s leadership capabilities. Plain and simple, Chuck DeVore is no statesmen. The statement he allowed to be released by his campaign was immature and derogatory. It said:

“This grassroots movement is actually a grassroots movement,” said DeVore spokesperson Joshua Trevino. “Carly Fiorina thinks she can find the sheepdog to corral the sheep. Chuck DeVore knows they’re not sheep at all. They’re Americans. And they’ll make their own decisions.”

Can you tell me what is wrong with the above quote? How does DeVore saying that Americans will make their own decisions speak to his leadership or statesmenship? In what way is it derogatory or immature?

When was she rated by the NRA?

I saw the same press release you got this info from. According to your post, she is Margaret Thatcher, Calvin Coolidge, Ronald Reagan, and George Washington all wrapped up. Who knew California was ready to elect someone who is conservative on literally every subject of importance.

that wasn’t all DeVore said.

Also This

DeVore has a communications director and a campaign manager, but apparently he doesn’t think it’s necessary for his campaign to pay them because California taxpayers are picking up the tab.

Both of his senior campaign aides are state employees. An independent group, California Citizens for Ethics in Government, has called on the California Attorney General and the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to investigate whether Chuck is using public dollars to subsidize his campaign

Oh, I don't know. What IS conservative about her? What she says she is? That no longer works for me. I mean, just look what Juan McLame said HE was for and against.

What is her past record on voting (or giving a damn)? Looks to me like her record has been that she couldn't be bothered TO vote. And that (apathy) is the LAST, the very last, thing that we need right about now. What? Is she suddenly, if elected, going to start CARING?

This upcoming election is critical. There will BE no margin for error. As such, we can't make the same mistakes we made in the last election. We need someone that is serious, nay passionate, about serving as a conservative to help this nation recover from the damage that has been done and is still being done to it. Someone that actually has cared enough to VOTE their conscience in the past.

If you know or have proof or sources that say differently, please post them. I'm open to debate, as long as the ultimate end results in us getting the BEST CONSERVATIVES in office that we can get.

"The former head of Hewlett-Packard, who is running for the seat now held by Democrat Barbara Boxer, said she has no excuse for not voting more often when people have died for that right.

"I'm a lifelong registered Republican but I haven't always voted," she said Thursday during an event in Sacramento. "And I will provide no excuse for it. You know, people die for the right to vote. And there are many, many Californians and Americans who exercise that civic duty on a regular basis. I didn't. Shame on me."

Nice try in deflecting. Explain what is wrong with the quote. You brought it up, you back it up.

As for what you just posted, thats not a quote by DeVore. Thats something that somebody else wrote.

Since I live in Calif and you don’t, I want the most conservtive candidate who can beat Boxer,
not a whiney guy who is having CAlif. tax payers pay for his staff and is under investigation
and the other clown who is tied in with radical Muslims
and receives money from them and is for gay marriage.

Wrong. I don't support RINOs and I'm not a fan of the GOP.
But you apparently can't see the writing on the wall nor do you have any sense of taking what you can get now and building upon it.

DeVore does not have the money to compete against Boxer.

Palin is looking at the big picture. We need to all step back and look at it with her.

You simply don't get it.

There is a time to stand on principles and there's a time to be pragmatic and look at the big picture.

The latter is one of those times.

Money is the mother's milk of politics. If DeVore couldn't raise millions in the 11 months he's been running, especially given the rise of the Tea Party and limited gov't movement during this time, then that should clue you in that he's simply not a viable candidate.

Carly has received the endorsements of major conservative organizations, and that's good enough for me.

Sarah Palin had the option of keeping her mouth shut. She decided not to, so now she’s known by the RINO company she keeps.

And it’s quite likely Palin will also end up endorsing Romney for President. If he offered her the VP slot with him (which he won’t), she accept without a second’s hesitation.

Palin is a politician, and anybody who imagines her to be anything else is lost in some fantasy world.
