In fact, it is federal law that no flag shall be flown higher than the flag of the United States. This kid’s got the law on his side as far as taking it down. Throwing it away might be perceived as destruction of private property or vandalism, but I’d take that case.

Response to Inaccurate Allegations
It is unfortunate that one persons misinformation has caused such a disruption for our students. The facts are as stated above.
Along with a curriculum rich in diversity, we strive to instill the value of patriotism in our student body. With your continued support Klein ISD is confident that we can move beyond these inaccurate allegations and continue to work together in the best interest of our community.
Who knows, maybe generation Z will end up having more guts than mine or any other since WWII.
He shouldn’t have thrown the flag away as it belonged to someone else, but he’s otherwise a great American Patriot! His mother should be proud. I know I am for her.
Ping!
He’s like the Vet who took down the Mexican flag that was flying above the American a couple of years ago!

I guess I must be really out of the loop. Why is an American school flying a Mexican flag, anyway?
...a Texas high school student who took down a Mexican Flag in his school "because it was displayed higher" than the American Flag on "Cinco de Mayo." He then threw the flag away.

It seems interesting that KISD is targeting one persons misinformation, Michael Berry/AM 740, as a distraction away from their actions.
Lets review the KISD errors:
- prominate display of the Mexican flag in the hallway
- display approved by KISD staff
- team of 6 staff marched the student down to the principals office (6?)
- per the students mother, there is a hint of extortion ... they are demanding the student pay a third party for the mexican flag
- KISD hung-up on / would not speak with the students mother early in the event ... and did not take parental objections into account
- the Student and his family are now receiving death and violence threats; there is a portion of blame that KISD must accept for these threats, based on how they treated the parent, how they treated the student, and based on the aggressive PR campaign they are now running
The student is an ROTC member at the school, and should be proud of his actions.
My view - the patriotism of KISD staff is in question, and they showed poor judgement and PC-like behavior. They ignored the majority of tax payers in their district, and embarrassed themselves. Effectively, they have spit on the American Flag.
There are reasons why we only fly the American flag inside and outside schools; the blood of our patriots and the blessings of God allowed this school to even exist - and for another nations flag to be openly and brazenly displayed is an affront to these American Patriots.
“The mother said her son has been suspended for three days, and the school is doing “research” on how much he needs to pay in restitution.”
The “educators” responsible for this would be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail on more patriotic times.
The kid is a hero. not a villain and this pandering to Mexico and Muslims has got to stop.
Only if the parents in that school get aroused and demand changes will they occur.
All patriotic parents in that school should pull their kids from the calssroom until the school apologizes to this Great American Hero.
Viva Los 1070!
