Poor GW. He never did get to make that "new America"...

THE "NEW AMERICAN"

..........<

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. Not to be picky, but it’s Karl, with a ‘K’.

He threw Tom Tancredo out of the Whitehouse and called him a trader to his party.

Watched the same segment. I agree, Rove came across as lame and defensive and frankly evasive. How he got his rep as the political genius I amn starting to wonder. He flunked the quiz tonight, and ought to go away and reboot before trying this in public again.

“...because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”

.
Don’t waste Christ’s words on these people — they’re not worthy of them. Whether it’s GW, Bush Sr. or the guy in between, they’r all politicians. Get used to it.

The GOP needs cheap labor. It’s obvious the spineless jellyfish have gotten new talking points from the Country Club regime. The GOP will be DEAD as a party in 2 years.

So now Karl Rove is a RINO? Is there anyone who isn’t? I like the term limited to the real thing-Luger, Snow,Collins etc.

In better days it would have been called treason.

That’s why countries like Russia and China will be the ultimate survivors — no PC bullsh*t over there.
Not that I want to live there but it saddens me to see my country in a suicide mode.

I came away with the same feeling. If he's a genius, then I'll take the "stupid" Sarah Palin any day.

Until you convince virtually every person who isn’t Hispanic that closing the border is necessary for our survival, we won’t be able to even make the first step. Forget mass deportations, it ain’t going to happen under any circumstance. The public is the reason why. Public opinion is strongly against it because most people see it as inhumane. Public perception is the problem, not Bush and Rove. I would just love to see our existing immigration law enforced, but politics won’t allow that to happen. Rove and Bush only tried to finesse this thing in order not to lose the Hispanic vote for Republicans for eternity. I don’t agree with it, but without the support of more American citizens, the immigration issue is a real threat to marginalizing Conservatism for a long period of time.

Those of us with long memories remember Karl Rove as the architect of W’s comprehensive amnesty bill effort. It’s really no surprise he still feels the same way today.

He’s smart, but he’s not perfect.

Your post is a bunch of rambling pap.
Bitch/bitch/bitch
Sounds like nothing has pleased you for the last couple of decades.
So who do you think deserves your acceptance? God is not a politician - he’s not running for anything. Short of him, who satisfies you?
I can agree with many of your points but I have a hard time stomaching your bile.

Maybe it’s just because Karl Rove is just another politician! When you actually realize that fact, then you just may realize how much we the people are “led” by these so called leader.

Politicians are by description deceptive, elusive, sleazy, and most of all corrupt (most of the time). When you understand this, then you can begin to carry on a conversation.

I have loved Karl Rove in the past but have also grown enough to understand that he is a manipulator of opinion (his job). That does not make him evil, but it does make him someone who shouldn’t be taken at his word.

Most politicians are great talkers. That is why they are in politics - not only good money, but a great avenue into corruption. Seems that this profession grabs all that have grand dreams.

To accept Rove’s statements today is to ignore all things that have happened in the last two years. I do NOT think of Rove as a Conservative but as a Politician that will say and do whatever he needs to do to win...

“...The public is the reason why. Public opinion is strongly against it because most people see it as inhumane. Public perception is the problem, not Bush and Rove...”

I don’t nuy that. Why is public perception overwhelmingly in favor of Arizona’s latest bill while the pc traitors in overnment are so vehemently against it? They are giving the people of this nation the one finger salute just like they did with thease bailouts and the nationalization of “healthcare”. They do this because THEY are tyrants and usurpers, NOT because of the PUBLIC.
