Excuse me, but there is a light side to Sharia?
You beat me to the question.
Okay, so it took you 4 minutes before you posted, but seriously, how quickly after you read the headline did you and I come up with the same sentence.
For me it was about a second.
Certainly. The darker portions deal with punishing adultery by stoning and the like. But people focus on that part to the exclusion of the benefits of shariah. For example, did you ever walk down the street look at a woman’s legs and think, “She could use a shave”? You don’t have to do that under shariah because she is covered from head to toe! If you beat her and give her a black eye she can’t use emarrassment over her swollen eye as an excuse not to go do the shopping because her face is covered by a veil anyway! And the old stereotypes about lousy women drivers disappear because they won’t be allowed to drive - another benefit! Finally, there are the healthy outdoor activities that shariah encourages such as swordplay - great exercise. And hands on experience making things like bombs and poison gases. Don’t forget the beheadings, forced conversions, rapes, rampant homosexuality, widespread slavery, change, hope, and scented welfare checks. Don’t shortchange shariah just because it has a few very minor flaws. Remember, the perfect is the enemy of the good, so lighten up a bit!
Exactly.
Dark side? What the hell is the bright side? That more enlightened believers don’t do in home clitorectomies anymore?
