Sunday morning May 2nd, hundreds of kids throughout Indianapolis set up lemonade stands for Lemonade Day. More than 6500 young entrepreneurs, ranging in age from pre-school through high school, conducted business demonstrating to the world the value of entrepreneurship. They made the lemonade here, figured out how to price it, bought the materials at the store and even built their own stands! said Scott Jones, owner of search engine ChaCha! Theyre learning how to feel better about themselves by working for themselves and controlling their own destiny.

Where the heck was the Health Department? Were all these food distribution enterprises properly licensed and inspected for sanitary conditions? Somebody could have gotten sick! /end lib rant
Immediately, the city of Indianapolis sent out tax collectors and license inspectors to have these children entreprenuers pay ‘their fair share’ and ‘help’ them. Most were shut down for not having vendor licenses, beverage licenses, no permits for selling within the city, not having any record of a clean bill of health from the public health inspectors, plus none were collecting any city or state sales taxes on purchases.
Twas a very eye-opening day of how government protects and encourages entrepreneurs in their community.

I sure hope they collected sales taxes, and are prepared to file with the IRS, oh and had health insurance.
