For the Left: What Next to Discredit the Tea Party?

Liberals in the media and government are befuddled, trying to stop the Tea Party movement. At every turn they have attempted to discredit the movement, and at every turn they have failed. On tax day in 2009, the media and Democrat politicians alike turned to the slightly vulgar epithet “tea bagger” and attempted to laugh at the protesters as if they had discovered a little inside joke that showed they were smarter than the average mainstream American.

When the let’s snicker at the tea bagger approach failed, the same crowd turned to accusations of racism as if to malign one’s policy was to somehow malign one’s race.

Faced with the failure of the racist angle, the next move orchestrated by leftist leaders was to infiltrate Tea Party protests with liberals carrying racially charged signs in order to have plenty of fodder for left wing bloggers and MSNBC commentators to further marginalize the group. Unfortunately for the left, this tactic also failed.

Though it failed, the infiltration tactic showed a new approach in the left’s tactics. Instead of attempts to define the Tea Party to be something it was not, they were now actively trying to force the movement into their predetermined narrative. For members of the fourth estate, this is a dangerous departure from journalism and a move solidly into activism.

What has the relentless assault on the Tea Party proven to date? First, it shows that leaders on left are afraid of a true grassroots movement and that they sorely miscalculated the will of the American people. Second, it proves that left-wing activist will go to great lengths to provide the mainstream media with proof to fit their preconceived notions.

Smear the Tea Party with violence and race accusations. Paint the Tea Party with a wide brush. That’s all they’ve ever been “trained” to do.

For those who have not been following the antics of the left, perhaps. From the rest of us, the Global Warming fraud, to the distortion of our troops in Vietnam, the playbook has been the same on the left. First, find the extremes, (if there are none, 'create' them with biased and distorted--or even fabricated persons or incidents--'Winter Soldier', anyone?), and then proceed to hammer the public via the media with the unceasing allegations of impropriety until those who are easily convinced, willing to believe, or incapable of sufficient critical analysis believe the allegations.

This is nothing new to the left, but now they have been trying to do it to mom-and-pop America, and it isn't working, because the TEA party movement is America: it is us.

It is one thing to create boogeymen out of the recluse down the street or an obscure church group, quite another to try and do so from ordinary everyday Americans. This time it isn't working.

Just for the record - the term Tea Bagger IS indeed nasty, but let me remind the non-gamers out there that it is only people that win that do it to their opponents that have lost. Think of it as a nasty victory dance. My point being, they are tacitly acknowledging the movement is victorious! I'd rather be the bagger than the bagged.

Anderson Cooper officially "coined" the smear, although I doubt he came up with it first. Although, you never know. He does practice that vile act with other men.

Here is one of Coopers boyfriends.
