The conspiracy theorists are rightly considered the equivalent of UFO nuts--they line up certain facts in certain ways and have the answer that's convenient to their beliefs.
Some people have to have everything explained just for their mindset, when in reality, when dealing with a specialized situation, most of us have to educate ourselves just to understand the bare minimum. That doesn't make us instant experts, and no, everyone is NOT entitled to their own opinion, they're entitled to their INFORMED opinion.
Remember in the day when we were the rational ones who mocked DUmmies for being so conspiratorial about9/11, and "Bush's war cooked up in Texas" and all that crap?
Sometimes there actually is a conspiracy. FReepers have picked at and speculated about every single large scale event such as this since the site's inception. You have to admit, the timing of this is interesting. Not burning off the oil slick as BP reportedly wanted to do is interesting. Several interesting things, under a very interesting administration.
My own first thought was, well there goes the oil price right on schedule, Somali pirates used to serve that purpose. The second was that this will be handy cover for Obama to renege on his oil rhetoric, which will save him grief from the moonbat base.
Are any of these "true," even my own initial reaction? That's not known. Time will tell. Are some avenues of speculation silly in hindsight? Yes. Are all of them? Clearly not.
You just disqualified yourself from having a legitimate, discerning opinion...
