If you look at the presidential election results state by state, the results do not entirely equate with the freedom study.

Colorado, Virginia and New Hampshire were not keeping their love of freedom in mind when they voted.

Survey likely voters in those states now, and you'll probably find the greatest levels of buyer's remorse about the election.

...big numbers are not necessary to effectuate a revolution: The American Revolution was effectuated with 5-10% of the Free population...

So, what are we waiting for?

I've thought for a long time, that we will win our country back because such a large percentage of the population is now fired up. Once the dam breaks, and first overt manifestations of real defiance appear, the revolution will begin in earnest.

I'm not even saying that it will be violent, but I do believe that it will be a tsunami of pointed rebellion against the tyranny we're now enduring.

I know what you mean. As a Texan, I’m inherently friendly. When I go to other states, I have to tone it down a little so they don’t think I’m trying to swindle them or something.

I am waiting for some epic cultural or political event so that I am not sentenced to prison for trying to overthrow the gov't by force.

In the coming CWII scenario, early adopters will be turned into convicted felons!

Thank you for posting that; I’ve been tempted to get your books, but I’m good at procrastinating. ;)

Is the $22 for the signed copies per-book, or the set of three? If it’s per-book, is there a discount for getting all three, as $66 is a bit more than I want to spend on books not-needed for school at the moment [I’m almost done].

Also, on the subject of writing, I note that you’ve sold ~26k books w/o a publishing contract, what do you do for production thereof? Also, would you happen to know which publishers, if any, I should hit up should I ever get off my arse and write a book?

It could very well turn violent; bear in mind that those in power tend to be disinclined to give up that power.

{On a tangential, and theological/philosophical, note: that is one thing that makes Jesus stand out. He who had ultimate power gave it up so that He could live and walk among men... and not only that, but instead of coming as King-of-All (as is His due, He DID make it all) He chose to become a tradesman! One of the working-class...}

That is precisely the risk that those colonists in the Boston Tea Party risked. Several Bostonians lost their lives for the crime of peaceful assembly in The Boston Massacre. And, those American patriots who stood their ground at Lexington and Concord risked their very lives to say, "NO MORE!"

Yes - I fear that a few patriots will need to fall before the rest of us stand.

Yes, it could, and it absolutely will, if only a few patriots stand up in resistance.

The fact is, those who have a tyrannical stranglehold on us and our government are vastly outnumbered by freedom loving, Constitution supporting, patriotic Americans.

They would fold instantly, if most of us stood as one and said, "YOU'RE FIRED!"

But here's the deal: No longer can a person fade into the landscape. No longer can a person hide in a crowd. The technology available today means that you will be living on borrowed time the moment law enforcement puts it's resources against you. If the most patriotic among us act first, they will incarcerate us, in effect cutting off the head of their enemy. Thus we need patience and wisdom, two characteristics I sadly lack.

Some say "They can't arrest all of us!", but the thing is, they can. They will simply do it in rolling waves so as to not overwhelm their system.

Others will say "They can't put us all in prison; there ain't enough room!", but sadly, they can put us all in prison by granting early release to non-violent offenders. They do this all the time.

So yeah, if it were 1772 I would be sniping at Redcoats all day long, and return to my farm for spring planting and fall harvest, only to start up again with the thaw. But nowadays that is not feasable. I wish it was.

Friend, you've created monsters out of the immaterial shadows of your wildest fears. I guess that's why you "buried your guns".

If you honestly believe all those things you stated, then you're already defeated, and will never resist tyranny for real.

In every civilization throughout all of human history, liberty has always been won by any determined group of freedom-seekers who were willing to die for it. We aren't yet to the point where we have to put our lives on the lines to win our freedom. But - we do have to continue moving forward, or the day will come when that is indeed the case.

That being said, if you haven't decided within your bones that you would rather die on your feet, than live on your knees, nothing else really matters. It's over for you before it's begun.

I am also “formerly” from LaLa land. Lived in LA and Marina del Rey. Went there for a job. First full day I was there, the 29 floor building in which I had rented a condo caught on fire and necessitated crawling out in blinding smoke to stairs and walking down 29 flights. Right before I left I saw a murder by a gang in a not so nice area of LA that I mistakenly was driving through on the way back from an appointment. I met a billionaire one day in an elevator and we became friends and I got to know a high profile sports figure who was a great person. I high tech client whose company was defrauded by Intel eventually leading me to a court room in Austin, Texas. LA and California in general was quite an experience. Glad I had it but I am also very glad I am no longer there.

A "visual aid" I made about a year and a half ago using three loosley defined State criteria(with obvious overlap in some cases):

For example, Colorado would otherwise be surrounded by their idealogical betters. Maryland and New Jersey OTOH, are a coin toss IMHO but being adjacent to the current seat of power might influence their decision to side with the dregs.

Thanks for the ping EdReform. Thoughtful article and thread. I agree that flyover country will need the considerable resources of the several States to put the feral beast back in its chains. Then we can pass along an America to our children and grandchildren we can be proud we helped restore.

You know...The question you have to ask yourself is this...

Who will benefit from the collapse of the US economy, and thus the world economy???

Because that is where we are headed, and I do not believe there is enough preparation anyone can do to be ready for that day when you wake up and find out their is no reason to go to work, get in the car to go anywhere, etc etc etc...

You had probably better be where your going to weather this storm out...Than be caught in areas of certain social unrest, caused by unrealistic expectations...Because we all know what that is going to lead to...

That will certainly be an individuals paradise or living hell...Depends on what you do (prepare) before it comes to that...
