Actually, they did, although it did not make it into the Constitution. The competing language btw was German, since the colonies had as mmany German speakers as English speakers.

So what you are saying, is that the Founding Fathers discussed it, and then decided not put it in the Constitution? (German, French, Spanish, Urdu, whatever)
