Puerto Rico has always chosen the status quo when given a choice. Why shouldn't they? It gives them almost every advantage of U.S. Citizenship without forcing them to pay Federal income taxes.

If this crap passes, it begs the obvious question as to what would prevent Guam, the Virgin Islands or even some non-U.S. Territory like Jamaica or Haiti from applying for stealth statehood by this same method?

Which is why they want to include the vote of anyone of Puerto Rican extraction here in the US. They believe they can get enough votes that way to tip the balance.

This is not about what Puerto Ricians want, it about the power to take 6 Congress seats away from Red States and seat 2 new Progressive Democrat Senators.

What about the $5,028 Earned Income Tax Credit welfare check most would get every year? Likely 90% of their households would owe no federal tax.
