This is a transparent attempt by the Progressives in Congress to dilute the vote of American citizens and establish a perpetual Democrat majority in Congress.
If Porto Rico becomes a state, the Democrats can immediately seat 2 new Senators and 6 Congresspersons under what is known as the Tennessee rule.
Rather then being rushed through under the radar, this issue should be fully debated in front of the American people before it is enacted.
Reid and Pelosi are about to get another political black eye.
Puerto Ricans dont want to be a state.
Puerto Rico the 58th State in Obombast Onion!
Don’t worry, it will only be red states that sacrafice reps.
Anyone asked the Puerto Ricans if they want to be a state?
If this crap passes, it begs the obvious question as to what would prevent Guam, the Virgin Islands or even some non-U.S. Territory like Jamaica or Haiti from applying for stealth statehood by this same method?
Well we could start a Commune and be miserable in warm weather.
I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this if you have the time.
The Democrats know they only have a few more months to get everything on their wish list done.
That explains why everything is an “emergency” and must be acted on now.
I will predict when the Democrats lose both houses of congress they will become the “party of NO!” They will seek to interfere and delay the Republicans.
Of course the government owned media will then discover how wonderful it is to be the party of no.
This nation will have to live with the results of having elected the most extreme elements of one party into power without any checks or balance.
Not one-third below... but rather one-third of.

Exactly! Rush, rush, rush, crisis, crisis, crisis.
They are packing the vote with 2.5 million “former” Puerto Ricans. This isn’t about what Puerto Rico or America wants. It is about power.
The vote in Puerto Rico with regard to statehood has been
NO
As a matter of fact, I’ve talked with several people I know who come from Puerto Rico about this issue over the past couple years, and they’ve always told me that Puerto Rico has no interest in becoming a state.
The Democrats asked them and they said "¿Que?", which is Spanish for "Yes, we want to become a state and vote for Democrats!"
Maybe call it the Church of Progressive worship of Mother Gia” that way we can soak trust fund boobies for tax free donations like the Green lobby does.
Oh, I meant to add Congress can not just vote and a state is admitted to the Union. There are several things that have to happen first.
I do not think there is enough time for Puerto Rico to become a state before the next elections even if the citizens want to become part, and the last election on the subject shows they do not.
This is one more desparate attempt by Democrats to stack the deck in their favor.
