Reposting in honor of the coming amnesty fight which will, I believe, make the health care debate look like a spitball war. Full letter accessible on site.

In before someone says secession is illegal according to some SCOTUS judgement (US v White) and that a given people are not allowed to choose whether or not they want to be part of this any longer.

"Secession belongs to a different class of remedies. It is to be justified upon the basis that the States are Sovereign. There was a time when none denied it. I hope the time may come again, when a better comprehension of the theory of our Government, and the inalienable rights of the people of the States, will prevent any one from denying that each State is a Sovereign, and thus may reclaim the grants which it has made to any agent whomsoever."

             -- Jefferson Davis, Pres. CSA

Profiling Perry as Rightwing Terrist Recruit

Obama’s Department of Homeland Security issued an alert to federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officials titled Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment. Among profiling characteristics defining potential rightwing terrorist recruits are those holding beliefs to reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or to reject government authority entirely over areas of life.

Governor Rick Perry of Texas supports HCR-50, which says Texas claims sovereignty to all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution. He joins potential subversives in 32 other states, which have passed or are considering similar resolutions.

We are fortunate the 39 signers of the Constitution are long dead, because they not only held similar views, but fomented violent government overthrow. They put their names to the 10th Amendment which says, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution or prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”.
