Wonderful story! I am grilling steaks and will enjoy smoking a fine, long filler, hand rolled cigar made in a NON-Cuban country to celebrate FREEDOM this evening.
Chamber of Commerce weather here this evening in central Florida.
I just submitted my entry to Iowahawk’s annual Earth Day Virtual Drive-In. I hope I win.

Back at ya Robin...may the yellow bird of paradise fly up your nose, and your rectum.
If I was the therapist, I would have driven Emma to the worst neighborhood in Oakland and dropped her off, telling her to confront the black folks who were littering all over the place, telling them the error of their ways.
Dude. Seriously? Re-read her closing paragraph. (Some people are lost without a “sarc” tag.) Do you know who Ira Einhorn is. Here it is. Read extra carefully, Drango:
A frequent AT contributor, Robin is a recovering liberal and a psychotherapist in Berkeley. She’d like to wish her readers a Happy Earth Day/Lenin’s Birthday [that was sarcasm, Drango]. Robin would also like to send a special shout-out to Ira Einhorn, [murderer and former enviro guru] the master of ceremonies of the globally televised first Earth Day ceremony, now rotting away in prison for murdering his girlfriend and hiding her body in a trunk.
Geesh...
Personal goal: To have a bigger carbon footprint than Tony Robbins’.
The Left's underlying goal: to convince all of us that we don't matter. Our happiness, our cleanliness, our ease of living, our money, and our time...it's the government's business, not ours. While Marxist theory celebrates the proletarian, in actuality, people become interchangeable cogs in the collective wheel.
With the promotion of environmental hysteria, the government keeps the masses frightened and in survival mode. When you traumatize and terrify people, they're malleable. As stated succinctly by Adolph Hitler himself, "Terror is the best political weapon."
Another potent way to dominate people? Blame and shame them; make them feel defective if they trash a bottle or enjoy a hot bath. Self-hate and shame are unbearable states of mind. People will do almost anything to get out of them.
Precisely.
"Environmentalism is instinctively and relentlessly illiberal, and it is doing more to inculcate people with fear, self-loathing and a religious-style sense of meekness than any piece of anti-terror legislation ever could. If you believe in freedom, you must reject it."

Thanks for the post. I enjoyed the read.
Made me realize how glad I am I got out of Berkeley while I was young enough to eventually come to my senses (still took me almost ten years, but, hey, that’s what the Berkeley public schools do to you).
I got over my enviro-guilt long ago—for driving to work; for freely running my air conditioner in the summer and my heater in the winter; for owning, dare I admit it, THREE refrigerators! etc.—and feel such pity for the folks still stuck in the “terrified of my impact as a human being” rut.
Have you read Robin of Berkeley’s body of work??? She is more conservative, and has more common sense than about 94 percent of the Senate/Congress. Rush routinely sites and reads from her work.
Right back at ya...
I plead guilty and clueless.
And big big lawsuits against eco nazis..this is the business of the future!
I am in my late 20’s, and I remember a cartoon when I was young called Captain Planet, I hated the cartoon when I was a kid because it I thought it was boring, and I thought the whole concept of the cartoon was kind of corny. At that age I would rather watch Batman than some cheesy save the planet educational cartoon superhero.
Anyways, today on the Boomerang network they had a Captain Planet marathon, and we had the TV’s at work set on that station (I work in an dentist office, and we have the TV’s set to a cartoon station for our younger patients) and I just couldn’t believe how pro-warming the cartoon really was. If I would have paid attention to the cartoon when I was a kid, Global Warming would have probably gave me nightmares. I mean I hated the show when I was a kid, but now I hate it even more. I must have been immune to Liberal BS even when I was young lol.
American Thinker is an awesome site...go over there when you can and enjoy. Very conservative, patriotic, Constitution believers (who all followed different paths in their political journey.)
Have a great evening, FRiend :)
Dark humor. Funny, though.
