Many goods get more expensive, inflation increases, the consumer market takes a big hit, but we get some vital industries back. Once that occurs, we lift tariffs and start the cycle again.
I understand the downside of tariffs, but we have been gutted by slave labor pricing of goods and by currency manipulation. Something has to give.... we can't keep gong the way we are.

The reason we have been gutted by slave labor is because of the cost and regulations of doing business here.
Remove those costs and the Chinese haven’t a chance no matter how low they drive their labor costs.
Oh and BTW. Ring in the big labor unions here. They’ve got out of hand and no longer represent the working people. Make business offer profit sharing or bonus plans to supplement wages.
