i am self emloyed so I have would have no problem with that.

Here is what a MODERN kenyan BC looks like. The document is issued be the Register. So the procedure has not changed since 1963 (I have posted the links to the Kenyan laws of 1963 some time ago here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2465278/posts)
hospitals issue birth notifications
parents must bring the notification to the registrar in order to abtain a certificate.
Maybe before 1963 Hospitals did issue certificates. We will find out. Be patient.
