You forget that the two are connected. Israel was (and to a great extent is) very much a socialist state.

Yes, but socialists outside of Israel believe it is an evil, racist, and apartheid state. Witness Jimmy Carter, for instance.

Was, yes. However, it is moving in the right direction, unlike us. Parties promoting less state control have over 70 seats.
