Act III: Escalation, Intimidation, and Provocation

The latest threat against the Tea Parties has come from the anarchists, who are reporting that they will disrupt rallies at some point. Here are some comments from Steve (from Motor City Times) at the Resistance.

Anarchists are planning to infiltrate Tea Party rally’s in the near future. According to the ultra Liberal Raw Story.com they are going to stage peaceful protest and advocate an increase in food stamp subsidies. Or something along those lines:

But is it war the anarchists are planning? Not according to the blog posting that started it all: A call to action at the anarchist news site Infoshop, urging people to “Crash the Tea Parties!“

“If the tea party movement continues to grow in size and strength there is a big chance they will dominate this country in the near future,” the posting implores. “If the tea party movement takes over this country they will really hurt poor people by getting rid of social programs like food stamps, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, student aid, free health care, etc.” (emphasis added)

Anarchists= Food Stamps and Student Aid.

Got it.

The issue is the Anarchists are violent leftist who want nothing more than to turn a peaceful Tea Party rally into chaotic scene. Liberal Democrats and their willing accomplices in the press want nothing more than to have the Tea Party movement discredited. They will look for any opportunity to paint Tea Party movement as extreme.

Russ, from That’s Right, and the Resistance, has also discussed this threat.

Again folks, despite the nonsense these idiots want to kick about the tea parties being “astroturfed”, make no mistake about it they are professional agitators. It is what many of them do for a living. They have workshops in civil disobedience. They have seminars in how to disrupt the opposition. Depending on their age, many of these jack*sses have been doing nothing but protesting for years.

They know what they’re doing and they know how to make it stick. They will be videotaping you, taking pictures of you and editing the content to make you look as stupid as possible.

We’ve been threatened with infiltration before. It’s never been a significant problem, everyone picks them out, and it amounts to nothing. It may not here. It may be that the threat of the anarchists are more significant than the reality of the Anarchists. Think about that for a moment. The anarchists are dangerous-they DO engage in violence of all sorts. They ARE the right hand of the Rent-a-mob. That creates anxiety, anger, and intimidation. They want the Tea Party folks on edge. They WANT the Tea Parties folks to react violently. They want to ramp up the rhetoric. They are petulant children that know how to get under the skin of the grown-ups. Let’s take a look at them in action, courtesy of Steve’s article at the Resistance…

So, why might our left use the violent wing of the rent-a-mob?

* To intimidate people. If violent goons are supposed to crash the party, maybe less people show up.

* The threat of their potential presence causes agitation. People will think and prepare differently simply because they are facing a potential threat. The idea is to increase the state of agitation within the Tea Party, as people in a heightened emotional state are more likely to lash out in some way.

* To set up the Tea Parties: They might show up and mix with the crowd in order to do something embarrassing or illegal. Video will be taken and used to smear the movement.

* To create an exploitable crisis. If they show up in full regalia (faces covered and all), and go through the crowd threatening or attacking people. If anyone retaliates, it will be used as “evidence” that the Tea Parties are filled with “dangerous terrorists.” In this scenario, he MSM will likely ignore the anarchists, and used selectively edited footage to smear the Tea Parties. They’ve done it before.

* This all might be much ado about nothing – yet another distraction. I actually lean towards this option.

As for the anarchists themselves, I believe them to be cowards. They come in numbers, hide their identities, smash windows, destroy cars, and set dumpsters on fire. They do mix it up with police, but they also know that the police have strict rules of engagement. Then, when they attack the police, and the police respond with any sort of force at all, they cry about brutality. They are petulant children, and should be treated as such, ignore them, and if they become a problem, record it and turn them over to the police.

If they show up, that is.

Also, remember that we’re being subjected to the Alinsky method. Rule 5 was the weapon of choice all of last year. Now we’re seeing some more:

8. “Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose.”

As we have seen, they are coming at us from different angles.

9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”

This matches the anarchist threat rather well.

10. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.”

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’…

“…any target can always say, ‘Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?’ When you ‘freeze the target,’ you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments…. Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the ‘others’ come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target…’

“One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other.”

The idea here is to pound away at the target. Persistence is the key for their narrative. They’ll say we’re racists and terrorists today, and again tomorrow, and next week, next month, and all year long. They’ll say it spite of a lack of evidence, and they’ll ignore evidence to the contrary. They’ll continue to accuse us of what they do, and they will not stop until it sticks. It is the architecture of the “big lie,” and the left are experts at it.

We know what they’re doing. We simply have to be aware, and plow through. We have the truth, and that still matters. They can get the MSM to say whatever they like, but no one is paying attention.

That is the great weakness of their strategy, as they do not have control over all modes of communication (I’m sure they’re working on a way to achieve it though). Harrison commented on the last post that people read Pravda and knew it wasn’t true. That was so, but then again, they also didn’t have access to additional information outside of the state. Knowing something is false is one thing, knowing what it is instead is another. That’s where the alternative media comes in. With free access to information, leftist propaganda falls on increasingly deaf ears.

We should also keep in mind that defending ourselves means that we’re expending time and resources that could be better spent getting our message out.

To answer the original question, perhaps the Clinton/Carvile plan was not to go after Tea Party organizers, as the movement has no centralized control. Maybe that was a distraction. The Clintons were known for that in the 90’s. They would intentionally “leak” false information to discredit any talk radio host that reported it.

I e-mailed the owner of the ‘anarchist’ site the issued the call, and suggested they complete the absurdity by incorporating as a 527 organization under the name “Anarchists for Bigger Government”.
