Hah! I step away from the computer and I got a bunch of responses with the Unanimous verdict: Thumbs down on the Obama-bot.

Now I know who I'd like to lay off... And given the cognitive ability displayed in casting a vote for an obvious impostor and fraud -- its likely that this person lacked in the competence department...
But all of that said - the employer needs to judge based on the employee's performance. And not base his layoff decision on the bumper sticker on the guy's car (or whatever metric the employer used to determine the layoffee was an Obama supporter).

the employer needs to judge based on the employee’s performance.

Why? An employer should be able to use any criteria he wants to hire or fire a person for a private business.

There are many reasons, other than job performance, to determine who gets laid off. Company loyalty, whether other employees like, respect and trust you, and somebody you believe is voting against the best interest of your company are just a few.

“. . . based on the employee’s performance.”

In this case, I’d say the employee performed quite poorly at the ballot box.

I agree, but come on. Most who voted for chosen one still think when the gov’t gives them stuff it’s “free”. Just like most of them think that corporations pay taxes (or not enough in their rhetoric).

I think this is a situation where the guy wasn’t cutting it, he was laid off, he knew his boss was anti-obama, figured he was entitled to his job regardless of his performance and is making a stink about it...sounds like typical liberal to me.
