Tom Coburn has been listed as the 4th most conservative member of the Senate, not far behind James Inhoffe who is the 1st.
Obviously, I'm not personally convinced that Nancy Pelosi has the interests of the people at heart; however, I don't think that we should ostracize the man who was arguably the single most ardent opponent of Obamacare in the Senate.
Coburn is almost certainly not some closet progressive liberal. He's been trying everything that he can to reduce government spending, and socialist style politics. As an Oklahoman, I will be voting for Tom Coburn in November, because he represents me well and he's done everything that I elected him to do.
You would all do well to look at his voting record before calling him out on something as ridiculous as personal chivalry.
Yes he has done what we elected him to do. That is why he has my vote as well in November. Doesn’t mean many are not disappointed by his recent remarks. We need solid leadership now. We do not need to be schooled in who is naughty or nice or how many news articles we should read or not read. We need to see the plan for solving the nation’s problems.
By your bio, you are a young conservative. Good. My hope for you and your generation is that you have the same opportunities and freedoms that we have today. We are standing up so you can have just that and we want our leaders to hear our concerns. That includes Senator Coburn.
Ostracize? No. Let him know we are disappointed? I should hope so!
I do not find his words to be something minor, nor is objecting to this in any way ridiculous — IMO.
