The Progressives: Lies and More Lies, in Three Acts

Note: This is the first in a series of posts about what I believe to be the current state of the smear campaign against the Tea Parties.

Back in February, we were discussing the report that the Democrats were going to go after the Tea Parties. Now, while many bloggers (including myself) discussed this at length, I was left wondering, “why let this out in the open?” After all, if someone is going to go after someone (or something), why broadcast it? It’s not the best tactic, is it?

The events of the last two weeks have given me some additional perspective on the entire situation. So, let’s take a look at the latest.

Act I: Generate an “Incident.”

During the ObamaCare vote, members of the Congressional Black Caucus claimed that they were spat upon, and called the “n-word” by protesters. This, of course, perfectly matches the narrative that the MSM has spewed since they decided to discuss the movement-the Tea Parties are racist. The Conservative Lady found this video of the event.

This shows a view that is very similar to the one in my post, however, it also shows that there was a police officer next to Rep. Cleaver during the alleged event, and no action was taken by the officer. (BTW, spitting on people is considered assault in most jurisdictions).

This, of course, led to universal condemnation of the movement by the MSM. But it doesn’t start there. Gateway Pundit has done some excellent work and shows that the MSM and lib bloggers just might have been colluding on this event.

McClatchy released their story on the reported attacks on the Black Caucus members at 4:51 PM EST. The McClatchy reporter William Douglas refers to Huffington Post contributor Sam Snead as a source in his article.

But… The Huffington Post did not post their article until 4:56 PM EST:

Amazing. It looks like the democratic-media complex was working on this story before it even occurred. …If it even occurred.

The Black Caucus members and democratic-media complex STILL have not provided any proof that the N-word was said once, let alone 15 times, as Rep. Andre Carson claimed.

UPDATE: The lies are unraveling… Black Dem Rep. Emanuel Cleaver who said he was spit on now says others are making the claim up on his behalf."

To me, this shows that it is highly probable that this was a planned “hit” on the Tea Parties. Let’s take a look at why:

1. There is a tunnel that leads into the Capitol.

One has to ask why members of the House decided to wander into a crowd of people opposed to a bill they were about to vote on. Congress critters usually use a tunnel in order to avoid the commoners. But on this “historical” day they waded directly into a hostile crowd.

The Congressmen could have taken it. They obviously didn’t. So, if the Tea Parties attendees are racists/terrorists, why send the Congressional Black Caucus right into their midst? I mean, if the Tea Parties are inciting violence and “hate,” why send the alleged targets of that hate right through the protest? One wonders…or not.

2. As Gateway Pundit points out, the McClatchy folks put out their story BEFORE their source did. (FYI McClatchey is the third largest newspaper publisher in the US.) So, there was obviously communication/collusion between the two.

3. The rest of the Dems start screaming about the protests. As does the MSM, using the same language and tone. Makes you think that it was more than just the Huffington Post and Mclatchey colluding, doesn’t it?

4. At no point is there ever any evidence presented that shows that any of this happened. It frankly didn’t matter. The narrative demanded an incident. If one could not be found, it would be generated, and so it was.

So, the event is debunked, there is no evidence, and the accusers are backpedaling. So what! They got weeks to preach and make this into a giant smear. It didn’t matter if it was true or not. The narrative had to be pushed, so the Dems and the MSM just kept repeating it. As the first video suggests, “If you repeat a lie long enough, it becomes the truth.” And, of course, there will be no retractions, no apologies, and no truth being told by the MSM.

In the end, the Dems got two things out of this. For one, it took attention off of the vote. All the dirty deals, all the bribes, and the blatant partisanship of the entire event got pushed to the side. The Dems made accusations, we defended the movement, and the abominable process didn’t get the attention it deserved. Score one for the Dems. The second benefit is that they got to smear the GOP, Tea Parties, Talk Radio, Fox, and anyone else who disagrees with the bill/law, thereby attempting to discredit them. Conservatives and the Tea Parties spent time defending themselves and not discussing the bill. Score two for the Dems.

This was clearly an Alinsky-type tactic on their part, but as we’ll see, that was only the beginning. This was only the first act. I’ll be publishing the second post tomorrow.

The dems know despite Nanzis crocodile tears that the Tea Partiers are not a physical threat.
They would like them to be violent, like the G8 summit rioters. That would give them more leverage.
Instead they are faced with demonstrators who are responsible adults, so they don't quite know what to do.
Smearing is the only way.
