To: I still care
It’s simple. They don’t understand the way the world works because all they’ve ever done is school, which is an unnatural situation led by liberals. I remember when I was in high school. Weekly Reader published a quiz on “Are you a Republican or a Democrat” (This was when 18 year olds first got the vote). Almost every kid in the class, including me, was superliberal, according to the quiz.

That would have been the 1972 election, in that election, the 18 to 29 year old vote went 52% Republican to 46% Democrat.

Thinking about it, 72 is right. If I recall there was only one kid in the class who came out and said he was a Republican. The teacher was trying to guess how each of our quizzes turned out, and most were liberal. Perhaps the Republicans weren't admitting it.

By my first presidential election I am glad to say I turned around and never had the ignominy of voting for Carter. I still remember someone canvassing for Carter just outside the election zone, and he approached me. Sometimes I wonder if he ever was ashamed of his gullibility. By the next election Carter was history- bad, bad history.
