At that age I had a strong work ethic, but virtually no knowledge of US History or how the government is supposed to work. I’m 58 years old, but government education back then was pretty poor.

I had the opposite experience and my Texan school district was superior, history was very important to us.

I went to schools on military bases until I was a Sophomore in High School, then went to NC schools. I don’t think I ever had a US history class.

Other than a public speaking class and a French class, I could easily have skipped high school and not missed a thing.
