I guess I thought the sarcasm tag wasn’t needed.
I mean that they are convinced, themselves, that their lies are an act of kindness because the real truth would hurt people. Just another lie, this one told to themselves.
Psychopaths are not kind and do not act out of kindness. That is correct.

But I still don’t think they even think they are being kind, not the liars I’ve known. And I’ve known a couple pretty well.
