That is a good point, and one that the Republicans - and in particular, we the people - will need to be on guard against. It starts by not getting lazy and letting him or the fascist liberals define the terms of debate. We are not attempting to "repeal" everyones' health benefits, we are attempting to restore the benefits that have just been stolen from everyone, and then, by removing the pre-existing government distortions to the insurance and healthcare markets, we will expand the availability of both insurance and healthcare, and bring the prices of both down, until we reach a point at which we can reliably identify that small, small portion of the population that is unlucky enough to find itself at the very tail of the distribution curve, and which will require some assistance in obtaining healthcare. That will permit us to maximize the number of people receiving the best healthcare this world can provide - the American healthcare system was top of the world, bar none, until Obama and the fascist liberals came along - and to identify and assist those who simply cannot do it for themselves without creating a completely unfettered entitlement that will necessarily bankrupt the country.

See how different the discussion is if you change the terms of debate and refuse to allow Obama and the fascist liberals from defining the terms of debate? The democrats/fascists want to paint us into the corner of wanting to "take away" everyone's benefits by repealing Obamacare, when in reality what we want to do is to restore everyone's benefits by removing all of the government-caused market distortions that have driven the cost of healthcare up way beyond the rate of inflation, year after year, and that have made it almost impossible for the ordinary American to obtain only the specific kinds of coverage he or she wants, without a lot of unnecessary, unwanted manadated coverages.

In short, we're not all about "repealing" Obamacare, we're about "restoring" healthcare, by removing the impediments that force prices to go up and availability to shrink, and if doing that entails getting rid of Obamacare, then so be it.

Plato on Obama, small

Well, Mutt, this boomer and her hubby has NOT lived a life of ease. We’ve worked our tushy off for everything we have. Don’t spend on entertainment. Vacation only every other year. Dine out maybe every other month.

Paid through the nose in taxes, including Social Security.

Didn’t receive any funding for college, mainly because we were too stupid to know we would have qualified.

Be careful how you generalize.

“go into full campaign mode against his enemies in Congress for 2 solid years.”

I concur that a) Obama is much better at campaigning than he is at governing; and b) Obama more than any other president in memory relies on scapegoating to deflect attention from his mistakes/poor performance. In that regard, having a Republican Congress to blame would suit him well.

That said, I concur with many others who have pointed out that he is an ideologue who really believes in his progressive project. Thus, he would far prefer repeating the health care debacle of ramming something through on a purely partisan vote than to being stymied on the next few planks of his “grow-government-as-fast-as-feasible” agenda, such as cap and trade, immigration reform, and a VAT.

I don’t think he would work with Republicans, just blame them (and bush) for all of his failings.
