Way overkill on the interpretation. Don’t go crazy on buzzwords people.
As someone with a Type II (implanted radio-transponder device) I don’t immediately see a problem here. IMHO, they’re just saying that any device which can communicate via radio telemetry should do so in a standardized manner, and data gathered should be pooled for analysis. So long as the pooling is anonymous, I don’t have a problem with looking for patterns among life-sustaining devices.
A lot of recent FR posts about “OMGWTFBBQ dija see THIS!?!?!11!!” are stupid hysterical rantings by people who want to engage in stupid hysterical rantings. Yes, there are problems. Yes, we’re seeing history repeat. No, not absolutely everything in the bill is proof of the onset of the Ninth Reich. Don’t look/act stupid, people.
Better to be aware of all approaches to ID people—this may seem harmless & strictly for med info, but the devil may well be in the details. IDs for other purposes have been tried before, the latest proposal coming from Sen Linsey Graham and Chuckie Schumer. Read more here:
