I visited the White House web site today, saw the image (below) and, immediately, "sucker punch" came to my mind. As much as I would like to do so, however, I cannot accurately use that term to describe President Barack Obama's signing of health care legislation today. After all, we had plenty of warning.?

According to Merriam-Webster, the term "sucker punch" means "to punch (a person) suddenly without warning and often without apparent provocation." And we had plenty of warning.

Appearing yesterday on Fox Business Network with Neal Cavuto, Rev. Al Sharpton reminded viewers of that fact just after the 3-minute mark of this video.

"The American people voted for a man running for president who said, 'I will do health care reform,'" Sharpton reminded Cavuto.

According to recent public opinion survey by Rasmussen Reports™, however, it appears many Americans regret having voted for Obama's "hope and change":

One thing I must admit - like other famous dictators Obama tends to telegraph his intentions.

In that sense our neighbors are fools for not taking him at his word.
