By similar token, possibly conservatives who spend a lot of time talking about the importance of (sexual) morality might tend to feel they have earned a break on actually being expected to implement it.
Not right, of course, but very much human nature.
The left-wing love to accuse the religious right-wing of trying to force their morality upon society yet it is the left-wing who actually are always trying to force society to march lockstep to their perverted morality. “Thou shall treat homosexuality as equal to heterosexuality” “Thou shall not restrict the murder of unborn babies” “Thou shall not kill murderers and child rapists” The left-wing have their own perverted morality that they seek to force upon society.
The major difference though between the left and the right is that at least the right-wing believes in EQUAL representation for ALL. It is the left-wing that seeks to use the Court to dictate their morality, not the right-wing.
