I think he is to be from “muslim” back ground as opposed to Middle Eastern or Roman.

The reason I say he will be of Roman ancestry is because of Daniel 9:24-27
Verse 26 says that “the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city [Jerusalem] and the sanctuary.”
The “people” who destroyed Jerusalem were clearly the Romans.

I DO believe that it’s possible that the false prophet (who is also referred to as the “second beast”) might well be a Muslim.
