ObamaCare would decrease costs is the nominal Democratic talking point regarding costs in the brave new world of government interference in the health care system. Of course, its a lie. Its a lie that the Democratic members of Congress will repeat, and their lapdogs in the media will be all too happy to echo. Here is an example of the truth, one that you will never see in the MSM.
Dow Jones Newswires | Caterpillar Inc. said the health-care overhaul legislation being considered by the U.S. House of Representatives would increase the companys health-care costs by more than $100 million in the first year alone.
In a letter Thursday to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio, Caterpillar urged lawmakers to vote against the plan because of the substantial cost burdens it would place on our shareholders, employees and retirees.
Caterpillar, the worlds largest construction machinery manufacturer by sales, said its particularly opposed to provisions in the bill that would expand Medicare taxes and mandate insurance coverage. The legislation would require nearly all companies to provide health insurance for their employees or face large fines.
We can ill-afford cost increases that place us at a disadvantage versus our global competitors, said the letter signed by Gregory Folley, vice president and chief human resources officer of Caterpillar. We are disappointed that efforts at reform have not addressed the cost concerns weve raised throughout the year.
A letter Thursday to President Barack Obama and members of Congress signed by more than 130 economists predicted the legislation would discourage companies from hiring more workers and would cause reduced hours and wages for those already employed.
Unfortunately, neither the current legislation in the House and Senate, nor the presidents proposal, meets these goals, the letter said.
We have to remember that when a industrys costs are increased, there are basically four ways to recover these costs; increase prices, lay off employees, close up shop entirely, or outsource production overseas. So, when businesses start to close, and more of our already battered manufacturing sector cease operations, or move over seas, well get to personally experience more of Obamas socialism. Of course, dont expect the MSM to tell you any of this. Well get the stories about unicorns that excrete rainbows.

Liberals have been arguing that people w/o HC will lose their homes when they get sick...
But they fail to grasp that many who lose their jobs due to Obamacare will eventually lose their homes also.
That’s one of the ideas, to my estimation. Part of decreasing costs is decreasing services. They won’t say that they won’t cover something, they’ll simply create a situation in which the service is not available.
Just tell the checker, "I deemed a reduction of your prices by 21%.....now check me out so I can be on my way!"
You would think the new mandates & regulations they just put on the credit card companies would have been a wake up call to what can happen with healthcare. For example some CC companies are now going back to charging huge yearly fees if you pay your bill off every month. They will recoup their profit somehow. What is so hard to understand that if costs go up, prices go up or you go out of business.
Those with or without H.C. now have lost their homes because of no jobs, thats called Obama, by design to make sure YOU need him and will gladly submit to this gov’t takeover.
Those who pay taxes and still work for a living will be kept alive till they retire and it's their turn to ride the carousel.
What Caterpillar and a lot of others don’t get is that destroying the private sector isn’t an unintended consequence of the health care take over. It’s the PRIMARY GOAL of the donks. Cloward-Piven strategy, with the endgame being a true socialist state with them on top.
You said it. Cloward-Piven it is.
