The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

Well, here we are, on the brink of having our nation "changed" right out from underneath us. We are not happy with this situation, because we see it as no-win. The president and his administration have forced and politicized and polarized and distorted and beaten to death the idea of "healthcare reform" such that it may very likely become a Pandora's box of unforeseen ramifications.

Not the bill itself -- that will embody in law certain disaster for the nation. But the debate itself. Here's why: if this bill is defeated, the entitlement class will be incited to revolt. Whether they will be appeased before Louis Farrakhan talks everyone into burning the cities is debatable.

If the bill passes, the rest of us will do all we can to fight it, which means that the legal system will be battling the unlimited resources of the Obama administration for as long as he wants to battle. And all indications are that will be a very long time, indeed. He doesn't appear to be fazed at the process of imperiling the economy, the mechanisms of constitutional government, and the very social fabric of the land to get what he wants.

Neither of these two more obvious possibilities is auspicious for the future of America and Americans.

Like that's a bad thing. Personally, the leeches need a serious smackdown.

I ascribe to Napoleon’s view of the proper care and feeding of mobs.

November will give new meaning to the political term “bloodbath”. Democrats could be out of power for the foreseeable future, and in 2012, we will see Obama leave in disgrace.

I posted the thread because I think the author is addressing the practical aspects of this awful, lying debate. In other words, sure, there will be political ramifications in the course of time. But there is a likelihood of disasterous economic and social ramifications immediately under either outcome, simply because of the blind ambition of the all the president's men (if you'll pardon the metaphor soup).

Sometimes things *need* to get worse before they get better. Sometimes a sick patient needs to go through a “healing crisis” when their symptoms appear to worsen, before they can start recovering.

That’s how I see it.

Also forces people to take a stand, choose what side they’re on.

"...if this bill is defeated, the entitlement class will be incited to revolt."

Good. Kill two birds with one stone. I like efficiency.

There needs to be a showdown between the producers and the leeches, anyway. If the leeches were to actually take up arms against striking producers (a prospect I find amusing, given their general laziness) to fight against the loss of their free ride (their greed and selfishness), we'd know for certain that they are keen on enslaving us for their own benefit.
