Open Letter Congressman Jason Altmire

Posted on 03/19/2010 10:49:10 AM PDT by TheNewPatriot

Congressman Altmire,

Why such a hard decision? Do you want me to make it easy for you? Here it is. Put aside the abortion issue, we all know it’s in there and millions of Americans will be forced to fund something they are morally against. Put aside the cost issues because this bill will bankrupt the country; look at Massachusetts. The premiums have ballooned to where no one can afford them. Romneycare is the same as Obamacare and it’s busted. Instead, let’s focus on this.

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Does this sound familiar? Or has this escaped you? Right now, you have a duty to this country, not your constituents; they’re the least of your worries. Your vote affects me and millions of Americans in a way that usurps the Constitution that is nothing short of tyranny. Forget the fact that this bill DOES NOT DO anything that Pelosi or Obama pretend (pretend, I will get to that in a minute) it will do. It won’t reform healthcare, it won’t expand it, and it sure won’t improve it. What it does do is it unconstitutionally mandates that a free citizenry buy health insurance and if you don’t, you’ll face a penalty of a fine, refuse to pay that, then there’s jail time. Does this sound like America to you? Does this even remotely sound like choice to you? If you have any common sense left, this alone should really bother you. It flies in the face of the oath you took. Or was that just BS, a bunch of incoherent words you uttered without conviction? And the pretend part, it’s not bad enough that on the face of it, this bill is unconstitutional, now you’re willing to participate in the “deemed to have passed” BS, pretending that it passed without actually voting on the specific bill. Again, this type of procedural BS is unconstitutional. There is no precedence that such a procedure has ever been used for such a controversial and nation changing bill. In addition it will create a double-dip recession, increase unemployment, stifle any economic growth, and lower America’s triple AAA bond rating. If you ever wondered what a banana republic looked like, this is it, you’re living it. This is the stuff performed by dictators. Is this really what you want? Do you really want to be part of this banana republic side show? This is Obama’s objective, is it yours as well?

Still not convinced? How about an overwhelming majority of America is opposed to this fallacy called healthcare reform, every poll shows there is no majority support for this. How about over 40 percent of doctors say they’ll retire early or quit their practice altogether if this passes. Does that sound like an expansion of better care when the professionals we turn to plan on leaving? How about more than half of the states stand prepared to challenge this bill. With that many states ready to challenge this, does voting yes sound like the right thing to do like the narcissist-in-charge would have you believe? If this bill was even remotely close to something that was right, the Bolsheviks in charge wouldn’t resort to this type of slight of hand crap, nor would more than half the states stand ready to challenge it.

The decision is pretty simple, you either vote for the side of tyranny, sell your soul to the devil (Obama) or you vote to defend the Constitution for which you swore an oath to do. Of course that only matters if you even have a soul to honor that oath.

Saw ‘Jase’ on local Pittsburgh TV this morning. He looked awful. Blotchy red skin, usually coiffed hair looking rumpled. Allergies? A late winter cold? A beat down from a heavily botoxed little old lady from California?

His office in Aliquippa, PA, is STILL saying (well as of yesterday when I last got thru) that ‘Rep. Altmire is still studying the Bill before he makes his decision.’

Yea. Right.

What was he offered???

Called his office yesterday and the lady that answered the phone asked if I wanted Altmire to vote for or against.

She was courteous and professional.

That being said, I don't trust Altmire as far as I could throw him.

He may realize that if he votes for the bill he will be voted out and may very well vote against it, I hope.
