Remember the failed Copenhagen Climate Change Conference in December, and how, at the finish, the vast U.S. contingent had to hurry home, as the North East got socked in by the first of the Winter snow storm events. Well, the power consumption data is out for that Month. Nearly every sector showed huge increases in power being supplied. Well, all except renewable power that is, especially wind and solar power. Even with the huge increase in wind tower numbers over the last year, wind power went backwards, and solar power virtually vanished completely, maybe understandable in Winter, but the U.S. covers a lot of area, and solar plants have also increased in number this year. All this proves is that renewable power just cannot be relied upon to supply meaningful amounts of power, especially when it counts, when those large amounts of power are needed the most.
