I'm Bret Baier, and this is a special edition of "Special Report", beginning tonight in the Blue Room in the White House, mid-way through what many people are calling the most pivotal week of his presidency so far. We are interviewing President Barack Obama.
Mr. President, thank you for the time.
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Thank you for having me, Bret.
BAIER: You have said at least four times in the past two weeks: "the United States Congress owes the American people a final up or down vote on health care." So do you support the use of this Slaughter rule? The deem and pass rule, so that Democrats avoid a straight up or down vote on the Senate bill?
OBAMA: Here's what I think is going to happen and what should happen. You now have a proposal from me that will be in legislation, that has the toughest insurance reforms in history, makes sure that people are able to get insurance even if they've got preexisting conditions, makes sure that we are reducing costs for families and small businesses, by allowing them to buy into a pool, the same kind of pool that members of Congress have.
We know that this is going to reduce the deficit by over a trillion dollars. So you've got a good package, in terms of substance. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or the Senate...

Talk about verbal song-and-dance. If you listen carefully to what Obama ACTUALLY SAYS, he doesn’t SAY anything. Mega-kudos to Bret Baier though.. He definitely wasn’t throwing soft balls like CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, or MSN surely would’ve. Bret is a TRUE journalist. I was impressed with his questions and follow-up.
His very tough-to-catch answer: I don't care about the rules. I want this.

I’ll bet that Bret Baier will be blasted on all the “networks” tomorrow for picking on their favorite president. HOW DARE HE INTERRUPT THE ONE!!!!
This SOB wouldn’t even be in office if these so-called journalists had done their jobs in 08.
I kept flipping back and forth between 0 and an interesting Histories Mysteries on History International and NEVER caught a question by Baer. It was 0 tap dancing around and droning on and on and not saying much of anything. I did see Baer try to ask a question, but 0 cut him off and he continued to talk about what he wanted to talk about for another two minutes at least. I then switched the channel.
This could be Bret Baier’s Dan Rather moment—when Dan emerged from all the crowd by taking on Nixon.
“His Arrogance” was all we knew he was. He couldn’t be bothered with questions, because he had the answers that we need to know.
Remember when Bill Clinton put his left hand across his chest as he made this statement or that? It was a “tell” that he was lying.
Obama’s “Tell” is that he starts to have a whistle sound in his speach. Just watch and lisen.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.
When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!
We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!

I must disagree with you, Bozo’s tell is when he starts to speak, you know he is lying then.
OBAMA: That also — I’m giving you an example of one that I consider important. It also affects Hawaii, which went through an earthquake.
So that’s not just a Louisiana provision. That is a provision that affects every state that is going through a natural catastrophe.

Other than the obvious reparations...
OBAMA: No, we will — by the time the vote has taken place, not only I will know what’s in it,
you’ll know what’s in it because it’s going to be posted and everybody’s going to be able to able to evaluate it on the merits.
So...Barry doesn’t know what’s in it, but, demands that it be passed.
They won’t post it beforehand, but, only after.
And evaluating something after it’s a done deal..is worthless.
Which is their strategy.
