The Michelle Obama's Mirror's Blog (MOTUS) broke a story last night about Newsweek "photoshopping" the image of someone, Karl Marx, The Shroud of Turin, or ZZ Top, onto an apple sitting in front of Michelle Obama on the cover of its 3-15-2010 issue. Shortly after the post, Newsweek "cropped" the cover on its site and is rumored to be firing someone today. MOTUS still has the cover posted here:

That is funny. It’s amazing some of the little pranks that somehow miss editing and make it out to the open public. One time in 1982 or 1983 in Colorado Springs, the Olympic Training Center hosted a group of Cuban boxers. One wiseguy in the sports section of the local paper, the Gazette-Telegraph, slipped some prank text into the story about the Cubans’ arrival. The text read: “The commies are nothing more than a bunch of greasy lettuce lickers, but they’ll be competitive anyway.” It was only meant to be a joke to pulled before production, but slipped through (nice job of proofreading, no?) and made it into that day’s edition. The G-T ran an apology the next day and the prankster was fired.

What's even FUNNIER is that no one read the article or quoted this: She’s talking about her No Child's Fat Behind program again. Which I think is very amusing considering Michelle never checks her own.
