This is part eleventy-three of the medias nonstop push for a boring, water-soaked, milquetoast, cucumbers and mayonnaise sandwich of a dull, uninspiring white man to be the GOPs 2012 nominee against Dr. Utopia and the razzle dazzle the media will muster for his re-election.
Today, oddly, its the Daily Telegraph in the UK doing the Mitt Romney cheerleading with cheers designed to lead the GOP off a cliff that looks suspiciously like the face of Bob Dole thats not carved on Mt. Rushmore because Bob Dole was never elected president because Bob Dole, as nice of a man as he is, and as much of a hero as he is, was a dull, boring, cucumbers and mayonnaise white male candidate put up against someone with real razzle dazzle.
Please feel free to chime in if you disagree with this next bit, but weve come to the conclusion that British journalists are EXCELLENT at reporting in the UK and are in fact the ONLY global news outlets covering the collapse of the Church of Anthropogenic Global Warming. But, the UK papers, when reporting on American politics, just parrot whatever they read in US papers. It doesnt appear the UK political writers are even based in the US, but are reading feeds in London and then trying their best to make sense of whats going on here, assuming the American media has professional journalists doing the heavy lifting for them.
But, we know thats not the case. American journalism? Whats that? Besides a glaring oxymoron.
So, what happens is this: the MSMs Herculean push to force a losing candidate like Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Mitch Daniels, or someone else from the usual sausage fest of boiled meat and tapioca candidates, is not seen by the British journalists for what it really is. Instead of disregarding these psy-ops missions from the Left as the election tampering they really are, the British, who dont seem to do this sort of thing, treat the MSMs lies as actual facts. They buy the lies completely, and then repeat them, not having the time or resources, apparently, to step back and look at things more objectively. The British are duped because they assume American journalists are professionals whose degrees from expensive journalism schools are worth more than toilet paper.
Theyre not.
So, the Telegraph starts clamoring for Mitt Romney to take the GOP nomination, adding a u to their clamour to make it super-British. They dismiss and denigrate Sarah Palin, because thats what their American counterparts do, too. Its all very predictable.
The other night, we were talking to a friend of ours in Florida and hes a very anti-Palin Republican who wants a boring white businessman to be the GOPs 2012 nominee. This could be a with or without sausage pick for Republicans, he says, because he thinks Meg Whitman would make a great president. He wants her because shes a business woman, which is the same reason he wants Mitt Romney (who, for the record, isnt a business woman, technically, but close enough). Our friend doesnt, however, want Pawlenty, Daniels, John Thune, Haley Barbour, or any of the other destined-losers the MSM is pushing for 2012.
Our friend believes that after four years of destructive razzle dazzle, the public will want a boring person who drones on and on but who knows about business.
We just dont buy that.
In fact, we think the very last time a boring person won the presidency was in 1988, when George H. W. Bush beat the more-boring (and weird-looking) candidate he was up against: Snoopy. Democrats ran a strange little man who rode around in a tank like a cartoon dog with a helmet on his head, so they lost. No offense to George H. W. Bush, whom we have come to respect and appreciate as much as his son. But, Bush was not an exciting candidate.
The Clintons were in 1992 and 1996.
Dubya was in 2000 against a dull, wooden, pathological liar of a candidate in Gore.
In 2004, Democrats ran Herman Munster who lost to that reckless cowboy the MSM kept insisting Bush was.
Well, as it turns out, Americans liked the razzle dazzle of a reckless cowboy more than they liked someone who was for things before they were against them and flip-flopped his way through one embarrassing, dull episode after another, with his gaffe-prone ketchup queen and sugga momma at his side.
2008 had the ultimate razzle dazzle artist, Dr. Utopia, who is actually nothing BUT razzle dazzle. Theres no substance there at all. Its 100% artiface and image. All propaganda. All emotion. All forced excitement.
Do you really think thats not going to be pumped out at eleventy in 2012? While its true the hopeychangey stuff wont work again, and the smurf blood blue 2008 campaign posters wont be recycled, since a new color scheme and font will be market tested by then, Axelrod et all will find some new hook to dazzle with.
While Americans will indeed want to dump Dr. Utopia by 2012, that doesnt mean Republicans should default back to the Its Doles turn and Its McCains turn nonsense thats plagued Republican candidates in the past.
How about making 2012 Americas turn and nominating someone the people actually want to be president: like Sarah Heath Palin.
Thats a novel idea.
Since the MSM, at home and abroad, keeps working overtime to force someone bland, unappealing, and boring to go up against Dr. Utopia and his Razzle Dazzle Machine, Palin supporters need to work overtime themselves to stop the media from getting its way and picking the GOP opponent for the Lightbringer they think will be most likely to lose to him.
If we keep calling these people out on this, every day, and raise awareness what is happening, maybe we can stop the media this time.
After watching McCain come from being broke and in last place (where he belonged) to securing the nomination in 08, I feel pretty helpless that I can make a difference in the nomination process. Plus, I live in NC.
I actually think Romney could win in 2012 were it not for his religion (scary, I know).
This is because I expect the economy to be in such shambles after 4 years of Obummer that the most important quality with the electorate will be someone with strong economic credentials. Romney has certainly done well in the financial world.
Now I’m depressed.
Whoever our candidate is, they need to stay below the MSM radar for as long as possible. I think Bush did a good job of this in 2000. The longer the MSM has, the more damage they will do to the GOP candidate. JMO.
That's how King Obama got elected. Pissed off voters that just because they didn't get their favorite candidate they were no vote, or write in. Thanks. Life is always filled with going with the lesser of the two evils if you end up with two choices and if you never learned that your are going to have one hell of a time in life. Who gives a darn what you write on a ballot that nobody reads.
If only that were true.
In spite of the massive amounts of time and money Mitt Romney invested in the 2008 race, he didn't come in second.
Romney came in a really lousy third. Huckabee came in second, despite having spent much less money and much less time campaigning.
I'm not saying this in support of Huckabee. I am saying it because Romney is a nightmare candidate, funded by an endless ego and an almost endless sack of cash. He has almost no chance of winning, but every chance of ruining it for a more viable candidate in 2012.
Oh please. Mitt will not win. He financed his own campaign last time and lost. He is a flipping liberal. He wins America loses again.
That’s nonsense and how we get candidates like McCain and Mitt. These guys are the same darn thing as Obama and the “lesser of two evils” mantra is going to deliver us to hell in a handbasket.
I left the Republican party because of sellouts the likes of those two jokers, Huckabee, Newt, Graham, etc.
It is up to the RNC to bring people like me back into the fold. I am not going to chase after some unprincipled loser because he sucks slightly less than Obummer.
The so-called Right is as responsible for the current state of our country as any Democrat and if they don’t wise up then they deserve to lose.
